Noor poised to make directorial debut with ‘Ishq Positive’

Though women in Pakistan have been playing a vital role alongside men in every walk of life, but the list is not so long enough in film direction.

Earlier, only four women have directed movies in Pakistan namely Sangeeta, Shamim Ara, Noor Jehan and Reema Khan. Sangeeta and Shamim Ara have numerous achievements to their credit as directors.

After having acted in dramas and movies for 14 years, Noor is poised to prove her mettle in film direction now. Her directorial debut is through the stages of processing that also features the versatile actor in lead role.

Acclaimed classical singer Hamid Ali Khan’s son, Wali Hamid Ali Khan, will also debut in the flick as hero.

Talking exclusively to ARY News, Noor said that having become the fifth Pakistani female director has been an honor for her, and, of course, a challenge. “With this, I see a substantial increase in my responsibilities,” she said.

“Acting and directing a movie side-by-side has been something pleasant in my career,” said the versatile actor.

Debutant Wali Hamid Ali Khan said the processing of the flick is soon going to kick off in India, while Bollywood actor Sonu Sood and director Farah Khan are also likely to make guest appearances in the movie during its patchwork.
