RAWALPINDI: Reacting to media reports pertaining to stranded tourists in Nathia Gali, the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force on Tuesday dispatched rescue teams to save the travellers, said the military’s media wing.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations, the rescue operation was under taken early morning at 3:15 AM under extreme weather conditions and the marooned tourists, who called for help through the media, were shifted to safer place in Murree and Kalabagh.
The teams, carrying food items and medicine were sent in support of civil administration to assist the Quick Response Force and Rescue 1122 teams in the rescue operation.
Roads at Tauheedabad in Nathia Gali were blocked due to heavy snowfall which resulted in many vehicles breaking down.
On media reports of stranded tourists at Toheed Abad near Nathia Gali a rescue team each of Army and PAF sent in support of civil administration. Rescue teams carrying medicines and food items. Road blocked due to heavy snowfall and broken down vehicles. Approach being cleared.

Local residents are also suffering because of the closed routes. The heavy snowfall in the areas of Murree, Nathiagali, Abbottabad, Ayubia and other mountainous areas of the country has disturbed the daily routine in the scenic valley apart from disrupting the tours of many travellers.
