In a message on the International Women’s Day on Tuesday, Barrister Zafarullah said the government aiming to highlight the services of women for the society.
This year the theme of the day is ‘the pledge for parity’.
He said the country is committed to take all possible measures to ensure provision of safe environment to women in the country.
Special Assistant to PM said the protection of rights of women, children, minorities, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable segments of the society had been given priority in the action plan.
Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Marvi Memon, in her message on women’s day, said that the BISP is the largest stakeholder in women empowerment in Pakistan by providing 5.2 million poorest women quarterly stipends of 4700 rupees.
