In his message on Twitter, DG ISPR, Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa stated that the border crossing had been handed over with an intent to improve border management and strengthen brotherly relations between the two countries.
This gesture will act as a catalyst and is envisioned to bring momentum in establishing peace and stability along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, he hoped.
“It was reiterated during the process, that all border related issues will be amicably resolved through mutual consultations subsequently,” stated Bajwa.
Angoor Adda is a village and a border crossing straddling the South Waziristan Agency of Pakistan and Afghanistan’s Paktika province.
It is one of the few easy passages across this mountainous border, and one of two between Paktika and Waziristan, the other passage being the Gomal River.
