Pakistan Railways announces to reduce fares on specific trains

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Railways on Tuesday announced to reduce its fares on main Line-1.

The Pakistan Railways has issued its new fare schedule on directives of Federal Minister for Railways Saad Rafique.

According to the fare schedule, 50 percent reduction has been made in fares of trains starting their journey from Peshawar including Khyber Mail, Jaffar Express and Awam Express. Besides, fares have also been slashed for Tezgam and rail-cars. The new fares would be implemented from next month.

According to details, fare on Jaffar Express and Khyber Mail, from Peshawar to Lahore, has been reduced from Rs1,740 to Rs900. While passengers would also get concession of Rs670 for travelling on these trains from Attock to Lahore, reducing fare on this route from Rs1,520 to Rs850.

Fare on AC Sleeper of Jaffar Express from Peshawar to Lahore has been slashed from Rs2,280 to Rs1,410, while fare on AC Sleeper of Jaffar Express from Jhelum to Lahore would be reduced from Rs770 to Rs610.
