Younis Khan was born on November 29, 1977 at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mardan city. He is a cricketer who lets his bat do the talking and has an average of more than 50 runs.
The middle-order batsman has scored a ton against every test playing nation as well.
He made his test debut against Sri Lanka at Rawalpindi in 2000 in which he scored a ton in the second innings.
His statistics speak for themselves. He is currently playing his 102nd test match for green shirts in which he has raised his runs tally to 8852, overtaking Miandad as Pakistan’s highest run-getter in test cricket.
The record was held by Miandad for the past 22 years.
Younis Khan has scored five double centuries and one triple century. He made 313 in the Karachi test match against Sri Lanka in 2009.
His performance in the Banglore test against India in 2005 is one of his most memorable ones. He made 267 runs in the first innings and remained not out on 84 runs in the second to help Pakistan defeat the hosts by 168 runs.
Younis made 127 runs for Pakistan in the series against England in 2012 at United Arab Emirates which the green shirts whitewashed the England side 3-0.
Apart from a batsman, Younis Khan has taken nine wickets in his test career for Pakistan whereas he also has taken 110 catches as well.
Indeed, Younis Khan will be remembered as one of Pakistan’s best batsmen. He has given some of the most memorable performances for the country.
