PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday proposed the name of Justice Yahya Afridi for the Treason Case against Former President of Pakistan and Army Chief General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf, ARY News reports.Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan had written letters to High Courts of all the four provinces to suggest names for judges who would bench the treason case.
Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, Chief Justice of Pakistan, will select three names out of the four nominated judges for the special bench.
General (R) Pervez Musharraf is facing treason charges for violating the constitution of Pakistan by imposing emergency rule countrywide in 2007.
