KARACHI: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday inaugurated a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Port Qasim.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the premier said the government has ensured transparency in all development projects in the country.
He said the terminal has been completed within the record time of 330 days, adding the bidding process for LNG terminal was completely transparent.
PM Abbasi said the terminal with a capacity to handle 750 million standard cubic feet gas per day was second of its kind and would facilitate in transporting LNG to power house for producing cheap energy
He said load shedding will become history by end of November this year.
During the meeting with a delegation of
businessmen a day earlier, the premier had said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects were the lifeline of economic development in Pakistan, hence the business community should take full advantage of the CPEC projects.He arrived in Karachi on Saturday on a two-day visit.
Abbasi said that the government was focusing on expanding infrastructure including road network and power projects to bring economic development in the country.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi emphasized on expanding tax base and encouraged tax-paying culture in order to boost the economy.
On Saturday, Acting Governor Sindh Agha Siraj Durrani had called on Abbasi at governor house. During the meeting, matters relating to overall political situation and development projects in Sindh came under discussion.
