ISLAMABAD: United States Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. David Hale on Thursday called on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the PM Office.
They discussed a range of issues including bilateral relations between the United States and Pakistan.
PM Abbasi stated that Pakistan considers USA as an important partner and desires to further strengthen the existing relations.
The US Ambassador congratulated him on assuming the office of Prime Minister of Pakistan and expressed the desire to enhance bilateral cooperation.
In April this year, US National Security Advisor Lieutenant General Herbert Raymond McMaster met Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and said that the administration of President Donald Trump was looking forward to work with Pakistan to pursue the common objectives of peace and security and economic well being of the people.
During the meeting, he exchanged views on matters of bilateral interest, and appreciated the sacrifices made by armed forces of Pakistan and civilians to improve the security conditions.
He said that security was an important prerequisite to unlock the immense economic potential of the region, and the US administration would like to work closely with Pakistan in this regard.
He said that Pakistan had also made impressive progress on the economic side, and that he looked forward to meet the finance minister during his visit to Washington later this month.
