DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced Rs 500 million in development funds for D.I. Khan, ARY News reported.
Addressing a public gathering after launching gas project in the city, he said a new partnership is being formed between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.
“You could not transform KP into new province, how would you turn Pakistan into new Pakistan.”
He said PTI came on fourth spot in Peshawar by-elections. “You must realize that KP is also slipping out of your hands,” Mr. Sharif said. He said we came here to launch a gas project, not to resort to just lip-service.
He also announced Rs 50 crore development fund for D.I. Khan. He directed CAA and PIA officials to begin work on building international airport in the city.
The PM said time was not too far that a railway line will also cross D.I. Khan. He said Peshawar was a big city, “why there could be no metro bus service,” he asked.
Mr. Sharif announced that a feasibility study would be conducted to prevent floods destruction in D.I. Khan.
Earlier, the PM performed the groundbreaking of Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla Motorway at Yarak, near Dera Ismail Khan. The two hundred and eighty-five kilometer long motorway is part of western route of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
It will be completed at a cost of over 129 billion rupees in two years.
