PTI to hold rally today in Lahore, ahead of NA-120 by-election

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is to hold a rally on Friday (today) at Jail Road in Lahore ahead of NA-120 by-election, ARY News reported.

All arrangements have been finalised to host the PTI supporters and workers across the province.

The rally has been organized at a time when by-election in Lahore’s constituency (NA-120) is to be held next week.

Meantime, the district government has advised the party workers to restrain erecting hurdles for commuters.

PTI chief Imran Khan is also expected to address party workers later in the evening today.

Earlier, the deputy commissioner (DC) recommended the party leaders to hold their political gathering at an alternative venue, other than Jail Road.

Calling upon the rally organizers on Thursday for change in rally venue, the district administration had assured full cooperation while asserting the PTI workers would not be allowed to hinder traffic flow.

To which, the PTI leadership had reiterated that the party would hold its rally in connection with upcoming NA-120 by-election, adding that the district administration should ensure appropriate security at the venue.

It merits to mention here that NA-120 seat fell vacant in wake of Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification in the Panamagate case by Supreme Court.

PTI is fielding Dr Yasmin Rashid while Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz is supervising by-election campaign for her mother Begum Kulsoom Nawaz in the constituency.
