Rangers, customs officials raid Karachi’s top mobile market

The raid was conducted on a tip-off regarding sale and purchase of smuggled mobile phones.

The shopkeepers strongly resisted and protested against customs officials and raised slogans against them. Rangers’ contingent controlled the situation and avoided a use of force.

Speaking to media, president SAddar Mobile Market Association Idrees Memon said we condemned a late-night raid without any intimation to shopkeepers.

Any of the black sheep among shopkeepers should be dealt under the law, he demanded.
