Lahore: Increase in the supply of local crops reduced the vegetables prices drastically.According to a customer’s review, in Shadman Sunday Bazaar that potato was now available at Rs 30 to 35 per kg, onion at Rs 40 to 50 and prices of tomato had also been reduced now which was available at Rs 60 per kg.
According to the marketing section of Agriculture Department Punjab, the new crop of potato including class 1 and 2 was coming to the market from Sargodha, Khushab, Kasur, Sialkot, Okara, Sheikhupura and Lahore districts and the regular supply of vegetables would further decrease prices till the mid of December.
Onion is bit late, however, its production has started arriving in the market and its price will be reduced by the mid of the present month.
Likewise, the local crop of tomato is ready and prices of the vegetable will be further reduced in Punjab after few days.
