RAWALPINDI: Security forces foiled a major terror plot by killing two suicide bombers in Gatkai area of Bajaur Agency on Monday morning, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing in a statement said that the security forces chased down the suicide bombers who crossed into Pakistan from Afghanistan to carry out acts of terrorism.

The Afghan-based TTP terrorists were intercepted near Ghatkai Kaga, Mena Bajaur Agency. They tried to escape but were killed by security forces.

The ISPR said the terrorists had planned to carry out acts of terrorism in FATA and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They had crossed into Bajaur Aegncy from the war-torn country through Kagha pass, it added.

jacket, anti-tank mines, magnetic mines, prepared remote control IEDs, remote control receivers, detonators and communication equipment bearing Afghan mobile company signature were recovered from suicide bombers.

A day earlier, five suspected terrorists were rounded up during various Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) conducted in different parts of Balochistan by Frontier Corps (FC), according to the ISPR.

The IBOs were conducted in Bostan, Dera Murad Jamali, Pishin, Sibi, Chathar and Lehri areas of the province.

A large cache of arms and ammunition including Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs), sub-machine guns and snipers were also recovered during the raids.

On February 11, as many as 20 terror suspects were arrested by the FC in numerous IBOs conducted in the province.
