"Over 300 policemen taking part in the police drive in which six armored personnel carriers, rocket launchers and modern weapons being used," the official said.

"We have gathered information and made maps of different points in the katcha area," the police chief said.

The operation has been halted after it remained leaderless owing to a delay from SSP Tanveer Tunio from taking charge of it, the sources said.

Drones, armored personal carriers (APCs), rocket launchers and other modern equipment is being utilized during the operation against the dacoits

Police chiefs of Shikarpur, Kashmore, Ghotki and Sukkur districts Tanvir Tunio, Irfan Sammo, Amjad Shaikh and Umar Tufail are based in the katcha area to supervise the operation against bandits, police sources said.

"Drones and other modern weapons are being used in the drive to clear the area from the criminals," ASP said.
