Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh is an economist of international repute with over 30 years of experience in economic policymaking, management and implementation.
His work experience includes: Harvard University, Cambridge World Bank, where he was country head for Saudi Arabia and as a Senior Official advised 21 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.
Minister for Finance, Planning and Development, Sindh Member of the Senate of Pakistan Federal Minister for Investment and Privatization, Pakistan General Partner, international investment fund.
In 2000, Hafeez Shaikh was made the Provincial Minister of Sindh for Finance and Planning in the military government. Hafeez Shaikh was elected to the Senate of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) from Sindh in March 2003.
He had been member of the Senate between 2003 and 2006. He was again elected to the Senate of Pakistan as a candidate of PPP from Sindh in 2012. He had been member of the Senate between 2012 and 2016.
In April 2019, he was appointed as an Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Finance after the cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
