Ten people dead in fatal crash near Jamshoro

JAMSHORO: At least ten people were killed and 17 others wounded in a horrific accident on the Indus Highway near Jamshoro late on Saturday night.

According to the police and rescue officials, the accident took place near the small town of Sann in Jamshoro district when two fast-moving passenger buses crashed into a passenger van.

As a result, ten people were killed on the spot and 17 others injured.

Rescue teams immediately arrived at the site of the accident and shifted the dead and injured to a nearby medical facility.

The local police said the ill-fated van was travelling from Larkana to Karachi. Five women and three children were among the victims who hailed from Larkana, they added.

They said the deadly crash occurred owing to over-speeding.

Road accidents are common in Pakistan due to poor condition of vehicles, rash driving, underage driving, bad condition of roads, dim or no street lights and violation of traffic rules.
