Three injured after train strikes crane near Raiwind

LAHORE: Three people were injured on Sunday after an express train was struck by a crane at a unmarked railway crossing near Raiwind, ARY News reported. 

According to details, the Akbar Bugti Express was going to Quetta from Lahore when the incident took place near Jiabaga, Raiwind. As a result, three people were injured but there was fortunately no reported loss of life.

However, the train engine was badly damaged in the accident. Railway officials said that a new engine had was brought from Lahore, after which the train moved to its destination in Quetta.

The train was passing from Raiwind instead of its usual route to Faisalabad due to a religious congregation of the Tableeghi Jamaat.
