UAE delegation calls on PM Imran; conveys desire to elevate Pak-UAE relationship

ISLAMABAD: A delegation from United Arab Emirates (UAE) led by Minister of State and CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber called on Prime Minister Imran Khan here on Friday, ARY News reported.

The PM welcomed the delegation that had been sent on the specific directions of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of UAE, with whom the PM met on September 19 in Abu Dhabi and agreed to strengthen economic, trade and investment relations.

The Prime Minister said that the composition and important membership of this delegation reflected UAE’s seriousness about strengthening the historic relations with Pakistan.

He highlighted the immense investment opportunities in renewable energy, petroleum and petrochemicals, sea water desalination, agricultural research and infrastructure development in Pakistan and encouraged the visiting delegation to explore these areas for investment.

Minister of State Dr. Al Jaber evinced UAE corporate sector’s interest to invest in Pakistan and  underscored that Pakistan has a lucrative market and a special geographic location.

He conveyed UAE’s desire to elevate the relationship to a long term strategic economic partnership.
Both sides agreed to achieve real and tangible results in the shortest possible time frame.

The PM conveyed his best wishes for the health and happiness of the UAE leadership.

The PMr was accompanied during the call by Ministers for Foreign Affairs, Finance, Power, Planning, Advisor to the PM on Commerce, MoS/Chairman BOI and the Foreign Secretary.
