The troops have been told to get familiar with the customs of the host countries in order for having long-lasting mutual respect with locals there.

Capt. Dan Sickles, host nation officer in-charge, has said that the soldiers should be respectful of local traditions and be patient the personnel of the host countries. He added that Ramazan is a countrywide religious celebration.
He also stated that various stores will remain closed during daylight hours.
It was also stated that the soldiers who failed to abide by the restrictions could be fined upto $685 or face two months of jail term.
The personnel exempted from the law are labors performing tedious tasks outside US controlled areas. They have been allowed to consume food and drinks in order to stay hydrated and energized.
