LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar paid a surprise visit to Mayo Hospital and suspended the medical superintendent (MS) and the chief pharmacist on Wednesday.
According to details, Buzdar suspended Medical Superintendent Dr Tahir Khalil and drug controller/chief pharmacist of the hospital, Irshad Hussain over unsatisfactory provision of healthcare facilities in its emergency ward and non-provision of free medicines to patients.
The action was taken by the CM under PEEDA Act, meanwhile, both officers were directed to report back to the department.
Warning was also issued to Mayo Hospital Chief Executive Officer Prof Dr Asad Aslam Khan over poor performance.
