Vaibhavi Upadhyaya aka Jasmine of ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ dies at 32

Indian TV actor and dancer, Vaibhavi Upadhyaya, best known as Jasmine Mavani of the sitcom ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’, has passed away.

As per the reports from Indian news agencies, Upadhyaya died on Tuesday morning after meeting with a fatal car accident in Himachal Pradesh, confirmed actor-producer JD Majethia. She was 32 at the time of death.

According to the details shared by Majethia, her car fell into a valley while taking a turn, while, her fiance, who was also present with the actor, remained stable. “It’s unbelievable, sad and shocking. Unbelievable that life can be so unpredictable,” he cried.


Her family is getting the dead body to Mumbai, where the last rites of the actor will be performed on Wednesday morning.

A number of her co-stars turned to social media to mourn the death of their colleague. Popular actor Rupali Ganguly shared a picture of the late actor on her Instagram stories and wrote, “Gone too soon Vaibhavi.”

Apart from the popular sitcom, her acting credits include the TV serial ‘Kya Qasoor Hai Amla Ka’, the web series ‘Please Find Attached’, and the Bollywood movie ‘Chhapaak’ with Deepika Padukone, while, she was a popular name in Gujarati theatre as well.
