Your vote in NA-120 to decide direction for Pakistan, tells Imran Khan

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Friday said votes in NA-120 by-poll would decide the direction for Pakistan, ARY News reported.

“Your vote will strengthen the Supreme Court of Pakistan and it will be a vote against the looters and plunderers,” he said while addressing a massive crowd in Lahore.

Soliciting support for PTI candidate in the constituency, he said the residents of Lahore would vote for Yasmin Rashid, no matter what Maryam Nawaz did.

He said the nation would not tolerate another election like 2013 and people were watching over the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

“I ask you all to reach to polling station on 17th (September), use your right to vote and prevent rigging. If your children’s future is dependent on Pakistan then don’t let this country’s fate go in thieves’ hands,” he said.

“I salute Dr Yasmin Rashid for her fight is not easy, it’s tough because it’s against the provincial and federal governments,” he said adding that “In sha Allah Yasmin Rashid will win on 17th.”

Pointing towards disqualification of the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he said the PTI was waiting for so long for the powerful to be brought to justice as it was an unprecedented court verdict in the history of Pakistan.

Following the disqualification of Nawaz under Article 62 of the constitution by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the National Assembly seat in Lahore fell vacant.

In the General Elections 2013, Nawaz Sharif had secured 91,683 votes by winning the seat against 52,354 votes of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s candidate Yasmin Rashid.
