Zimbabwe became the first test-playing nation to visit Pakistan since the attack on Sri Lankan team at Lahore in 2009.
The provincial government and the security agencies left no stone upturned to ensure that the historic series is held safely.
Although Pakistan won the Twenty20 (T20) and ODI series but the visitors won the hearts of the nation. The spectators and the people kept chanting “Zimbabwe!!” and their player names throughout the tour.
Many Zimbabwe players including Craig Ervine, Sean Williams and Sikandar Raza took to Twitter to appreciate Pakistan for its hospitality.
Batsman Craig Ervine said that the tour was an experience which he will never forget while Charles Coventry said he made new friends in the country.
Sean Williams thanked Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the security officials for making the tour possible.
Pakistani-born Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza said that the tour was emotional for him because of the love and support he received from the Asian country.
Apart from Zimbabwe, Pakistan players also thanked the African side for playing in the terror-hit country.
ODI captain Azhar Ali, Shoaib Malik and Wahab Riaz thanked the organizers for successfully organizing the series in such circumstances.
Pacer Junaid Khan prayed for more international cricket in Pakistan in his tweet.
Commentator Ramiz Raja thanked the African side for touring Pakistan.
Indeed, the sport brought the two countries together and eventually cricket won.
